Many energy drinks have 35 grams or more of sugar in them. It also exceeds the daily sugar requirements. A woman requires 25 grams of sugar per day, while men require up to 37.5 grams. Excess sugar consumption can result in extra calories and increase the risk of obesity.
When mixed with alcohol
Some energy drinks contain alcohol, and if you consume them, you may feel physically and mentally weaker than before. Then, these energy drinks can assist your body in absorbing more alcohol than you can consume.
Some countries, including the United States, have outlawed the consumption of energy drinks laced with alcohol.
Other considerations
According to the May 2008 issue of the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association, energy drinks contain small amounts of amino acids, taurine, guarana, and ginseng. They cannot provide any health benefits or drawbacks.
As a result, you should avoid drinking energy drinks on a regular basis. To stay refreshed and calm throughout the day, you must adhere to the proper schedule for your daily routines, particularly your sleeping and breakfast times.
