Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire customer engagement platform Braze for approximately $5.66 billion in enterprise value. Announced on October 20, 2026, the multibillion-dollar transaction aims to significantly expand Salesforce’s artificial intelligence-powered personalization and real-time messaging technology.
Under the terms of the definitive agreement, holders of Braze Class A common stock will receive $47.50 in cash per share. The strategic acquisition brings together Salesforce’s dominant CRM ecosystem with Braze’s advanced real-time engagement and AI decisioning architecture.
Integrating Real-Time Engagement and AI
Following the completion of the transaction, Salesforce plans to integrate Braze’s technology across multiple core layers of its platform architecture, including Data 360, Customer 360, Agentforce, and SIForce. Within the Customer 360 ecosystem, the acquisition is expected to particularly strengthen Marketing Cloud.
By combining capabilities, brands will gain enhanced cross-channel personalization tools. The integration is designed to help companies translate a deeper view of individual customers into richer, real-time experiences capable of scaling to reach hundreds of millions of people across various digital channels.
Transaction Timeline and Financial Impact
The acquisition is expected to close during Salesforce’s fiscal year 2028, which officially begins in early February. The final closing remains subject to customary conditions, including the approval of Braze shareholders and the receipt of required regulatory clearances.
Regarding corporate financial guidance, Salesforce indicated that the agreement brings no anticipated changes to its fiscal year 2027 guidance. The company has not yet provided specific guidance for fiscal year 2028 or updated its long-term financial targets in connection with the announcement.
