The world’s longest and heaviest riding bicycle measures 55 by 16 meters, or the length of four double-decker buses. It was designed and constructed by eight Dutch engineers. Ivan Shock, 39, began the project in 2018 after reading about the Guinness Book of Records as a young child and became inspired to build the longest bicycle ever. However, he needed support from like-minded residents of Prinsenbeek, a well-known Dutch village, as the project could not be completed by him alone.
It took them over four years to construct the longest metal bike in the world, which needs two riders minimum.
“I’ve been thinking about this idea for years,” Ivan Shock remarked. ‘We took into mind all the Guinness World Records rules when creating the bike to attain this record,’ he said. The main objective is to break the Guinness World Record and construct the longest bicycle in history.
55.16 meters is the longest bicycle that can accommodate two riders, according to the Guinness Book of Records. Lastly, the bicycle holds the records for both being the longest and largest riding bicycle in the world.
